2017 SEED Residency
Molly Schenck, self-described as "not a solo artist" will develop her first solo work in over a decade. "Two Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty two... and counting" will explore the artists' two and a half year journey towards an attitude of gratitude in order to connect to and inspire audiences to pursue their own journeys.
Molly W. Schenck is the founding artistic director of Grey Box Collective (GBC). Her most recent directorial pursuits include tackling tough conversations around interpersonal violence (It’s Not That Simple, 2016), hazing (Snowball Effect. In progress), hate culture (Understanding Otherness, 2017), and shame (Fool Me Once...Fool Me Twice...). GBC was part of Changemaker Challenge and the PAVE program at Arizona State University. In addition of the work with GBC, she has collaborated and performed locally with Orange Theatre Group, Mesa Arts Center, Binary Theatre Company, and Tiny Dances as part of Conder/Dance’s Breaking Ground series. She earned a BA in Theatre and M. Ed. from the University of Maine and an MFA in Dance from Arizona State University. Outside of the arts, she is a health and wellness educator teaching a variety of classes around the valley.
