Mitchell Keaney is an artist and musician living in Tempe, Arizona.  As an artist, he is particulary interested in sound as material and the composition of both geometric and abstract shapes within a given space.  He believes int he deonstruction and rearrangement of familiar materials in order to evoke an emotional dialogue between the individual and the work being exhibited through performance and installation.

 

Mitchell's latest project was a sound installation exploring the resonant frequencies of a given space.  During his residency at [nueBOX] he will work closely with sonic textures inside of a given space in order to exhibit sounds we may normally disregard.  The installation will continue his work with prepared speakers utilizing found objects and collage-style sculptures in order to present these sounds.
